Images of Europe

Images of Europe

Photographed in France, Greece, Spain and Italy - portraits of places, images of interest, collections of color, abstracts and allusions - objects and atmospheres representing the senses and sensitivities of dreams and imaginations.

We captured each image on film or digital media, printed on paper, archival, dry mounted and laminated on a small wood plaque.  They have picture wire attached, ready to hang 1/4 inch distance from the wall.

Photographs Wildlife & Landscapes On a Wood Panel

We photograph, process and print our wildlife & landscape images before having them dry mounted onto a wooden plaque and laminated.  We float them off the wall about 3/8 inch using wooden sticks glued to the back; a wire is attached between the sticks so they are ready to hang and enjoy.

Pottery Bowls

Pottery Bowls

Don says about his pottery:

My pots are thrown on an electric potter's wheel favoring stoneware and porcelain. When I begin a throwing session I have in mind a series or a medley of pots, each pot to be individually conceived and formed.  A hump of clay as it becomes a pot is affected by centrifugal force and gravity.  Like children, it reacts impetuously to nurturing, coddling and force. It is sensitive to my application of the strong and gentle pressures from my hands, fingers, arms and body. I am reactive to its immediate responses. There is a constantly morphing relationship going on that can result in a beautiful aesthetic experience or a muddy, deflating mess.  I imagine the clay wanting to become it's potential and I am there to help it ... it is a union of nature and human-nature.  Throughout the time spent together in earnest effort, I know my intelligence is not artificial, I am not a robot, I am not meditative ... I am fully engaged ... my mind's eyes are wide open ... my eye's mind is continually changing focus ... each are continuously fed by impulses sent by my body, extremities, hands and fingers via nerve impulses and synapses ... relative cognitive contexts are imprinted and erased and then imprinted again.  Then ... when the pot and I arrive at a point we can no longer go further, we end that time and go on.  During this time together something has been added to each of our existences ... a real-time emphatic experience for me and the clay has been transformed into a practical, functional pot, a new identity ... originating from Carl Sagan's earth ... our tiny blue dot ... our infinite speck ... we are ready to experience other new, interesting, and engaging relationships.

Bonsai Planters are not glazed on the inside so roots can cling to the sides of the pot; they have a single drain hole  plus four small wire holes.

Pot Liners are glazed on the inside and do not have drain holes.  These decorative liners are designed for house plants growing in their own containers so one can change plants for different occasions or blooming seasons.
